Tassie Trip, Day 2, Part 2
The Cascade factory was gorgeous. And it's setting was really picturesque.
While waiting for our tour, we walked through the Cascade Gardens. It was great but then it started drizzling.
So we headed back inside the tourist centre and just read our books. We had cake and coffees while waiting.
The tour ($20/person) wasn't all that great but the tour guide was quite entertaining and informative. The factory was closed as it was the weekend so we didn't get to see the bottling machinery in motion.
The taste test (the tour came with 3 tokens for drinks) was the best part. My favourite was the alcoholic apple cider, Mercury Draught, which didn't taste alcoholic at all.
We bought a six-pack of the Mercury Black (super strong cider -- 8.7% alcohol -- 2.4 standard drinks per bottle!) as a souvenir. It's not available in the mainland so it was a good Tassie purchase.
But, the day wasn't over yet...
